Designer Denise Mahmud brings passion to an old/new balance by combining a modern take on classic beauty. Meticulous about the quality of her garments, she prides herself on their detailing and strives to push the boundaries of conventional fashion.
The Autumn/Winter 2008-09 collection is a modern chic, ultra-feminine look with a palette that incorporates shades of stone blacks, earthy browns & reds and exotic aqua. The collection includes mixable pieces ranging from sexy cocktail dresses, dirndl-like skirts & dresses as well as jackets that work with new garments or old favourites. Fabrics include washed out hand dyed wool, lipstick effect cotton blends and silks with a wood look.
Designer Denise Mahmud says “I wanted to update classics with modern cuts that are confident and fresh. I aimed for a look that added whimsy to an almost bohemian but elegant style. For me it is not about rebellion or outrage, but eternally appealing and timeless garments. It's my take on über-chic.”
The designs successfully achieve flattering feminine structure with freedom from restrain and as always, the day-to-night versatility trademark is visible throughout the collection.
The latest collection will be presented at Prêt Paris for a third season, before moving on to the FaCshion event during London Fashion Week.
