Parley for the Oceans is spearheading a global movement to end marine plastic pollution.  Their innovative fundraising platform Clean Waves co-creates with artists on products to help drive change.

In collaboration with UK-based musician and artist M.I.A, Parley for the Oceans has dropped a new luxury eyewear collection created from upcycled marine plastic debris and reclaimed fishing nets.

The Clean Waves collection supports clean-ups on some of the most remote islands in the Maldives.  Acting as a creative fundraising platform, the brand gives 100% of its net proceeds to support the expansion of the remote island clean-ups, education and infrastructure projects.

And it doesn’t end at the cash register.  GPS coordinates have been subtly engraved on every Clean Waves product to help consumers connect and identify the remote islands their purchase is helping to clean up.  As well, customers receive updates and exclusive content from the area.

Another example of how corporate and social responsibility is evolving from fashion items that make you look good to items that embody sustainability and a higher purpose.
