We were delighted to welcome returning fashion model and actress Jennifer Aima to our Autumn/Winter 2016-17 catwalk.
Born in Austria, model Jennifer started her career in Vienna. This Austrian-Nigerian model has graced the catwalk at Innsbruck Fashion Week, worked with designer La Hong as well as many brands that include Mango and Göttin des Glücks.
After appearing on a television spot for champagne brand Schlumberger, Jennifer was encouraged to hone her acting skills.
Having joined a drama group and performed several live stages plays, she decided to pursue her model and acting careers in London.
Jennifer’s talents have won her work with the West African Fashion TV channel "KokoTV" and a role in the Rachel Stubbings short film "One Twe*t" produced by Ben Mallaby.

MOIXA A/W 2016-17 Meet Our Models - Episode 6
Born in Plovdiv, Bulgaria and now living in London, Moixa A/W 16-17 model Sofia Targova is an inspiring actor and dancer as well as a fashion model.
While studying at secondary school, Sofia became fascinated with America’s Next Top Model and Fashion TV. She spent every afternoon watching the shows and studying all the different aspects of mode/ling, from the model's lifestyle to the photographer's requirements.
Becoming a model had become her passion.
Sofia's big break in her modeling career came when she was selected to walk the catwalk for L’Oréal Paris and she hasn't looked back since.
As well as modeling, this lovely lady works as a deputy manager at a day nursery and is pursuing further educations at the same time. Beauty and brains.

Meet Our Models
One of the hardest things for us here at MOIXA is casting models for our catwalks.
It's a tough job choosing only a few models when so many beautiful ones walk through the door. So what do we look for in a model? Well they have to suit the brand, but we also look for a girl who looks interesting and has personality.
Over the next few weeks we will introduce you to the wonderful models from our Autumn/Winter 2016-17 show one by one.
Up first is Dorothy, returning for her second season with Moixa. She is a UK based model and Event Promoter. You'll find Dorothy twitting away @ModelGirlMomo
MOIXA AUTUMN/WINTER 16-17 ~ INTERACTIVE CATWALK
The Autumn/Winter 2016-17 collection, IF BY SEA, continues the journey of Nephila (the Golden Orb-web Spider), the MOIXA muse. In her search for adventure she decides she would like to travel by sea, but first she must get a job.
It's all about glamour at the office with loosely tailored silhouettes that look professional, feminine and chic. The collection takes a lot of inspirations from the sailboat itself. Gold rope with sailor’s knots are used to secure overlays shaped like sails. The hand dyed Batik prints capture the colour palette chosen to reflect the sea’s greens and blues along with hues of rust and sand that represent the boat’s deck. Reworked classic dress shirts with French cuffs and caps sleeves team up with trouser and skirts made of Japanese drill featuring jetted pockets and gold buttons.
Although not as predominant as the previous collection, the gold handmade web stills finds its way into a few of the outfits along with a few Swarovski stone scattered here and there.
Suitable for everyday wear, the garments are designed to endure the test of time.

A Fashion Flashmob on Brewer Street
As a pre-launch to the Moixa Spring/Summer 2016 collection, the day before our Fashion Week show, we decided to stage a fashion flashmob showcasing my favorite and most popular pieces from "My Gold Web", the collection that introduced the world to my handmade web fabric.
At 12:30pm the sun was shining bright and Brewer Street was pack. A true Indian Summer day. As we dressed the models in a private room at Grace Bar, the excitement was electric. Moments before we walked out the door the heavens opened up and let out its furry. We had forgotten where we live. It started with hail and heavy rain that continued for thirty minutes.
We refused to give in. So with brollies ready and armed with Moixa Spring/Summer 2016 signs we made are way the block and a half to the entrance of London Fashion Week.
My lovely models whipped off their coats and struck a pose stopping traffic on Brewer Street. As we crossed the street to get photos under the London Fashion Week sign, like fashion Pied Pipers the models led transfixed paparazzi with them.
Even though the rain never stopped, it was a great day and everyone enjoyed themselves. We definitely achieved what we set out to do and that was to grab ourselves some attention!

Months of painstaking work from designer Denise Mahmud culminates into an extraordinary twenty-five minutes on the catwalk. We lift the curtains and give you a glimpse behind the scenes as the MOIXA team makes the final hair and makeup touches that bring the Spring/Summer 2016 collection to life at the Grand Connaught Rooms.

The full catwalk for MOIXA's S/S 2016 collection "Beautiful Beast ~ Out of the Woods" during London Fashion Week.
For the Moixa Spring/Summer 2016 collection, designer Denise Mahmud has taken her inspiration from the Golden Orb-web spider which takes its journey from its home in the forest to the surrounding cities.
The silhouettes are playful and impulsive, retaining a ladylike feel. Soft handmade web is combined with bright and vibrant fabrics and detailed with crystals, beads and stones, with deep forest digital prints making an appearance throughout.
